by Karimnagar in the North , Nalgonda in the South, Khammam in
the East and Medak
in the West directions respectively.
Earlier
this district was called as Orugallu. This place was under the
rule of Sathavahana, Yadhava, Chalukya and Kakatiya kings. The
period of Kakatiya rule is termed as Golden Era.
