Warangal district  is surrounded by Karimnagar in the North , Nalgonda in the South, Khammam in the East and  Medak in the West directions respectively.

Earlier this district was called as Orugallu. This place was under the rule of Sathavahana, Yadhava, Chalukya and Kakatiya kings. The period of Kakatiya rule is termed as Golden Era.

Rivers in the District: Aleru, Godavari, Munneru, Pakeru, Vaira and Vijakeru.

Tourist Attraction: Warangal Fort, Thousand Pillars Temple, Ramappa Temple, Bhadrakali temple,  Eturnagaram and Pakhal sanctuaries and Ghanpur Temples.

How to reach : Warangal is well connected by rail and road. It lies on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad section of the South Central Railway. The nearest airport is 148 kms located at Hyderabad, which is well connected with major domestic and international airports.
