The
Rangareddy district is surrounded by Nalgonda district in the
East, Mahabubnagar district in the South, Karnataka state in
the West and Medak in the North directions. It is named after
Sri K.V. Ranga Reddy who was in the cabinet of Burugula
Ramakrishna Rao in Hyderabad State and Nilam Sanjivareddy
after the formation of Andhra Pradesh. This district was
earlier included in the Hyderabad district and later formed as
a seperate district in the year 1978.
