The
Nalgonda district is surrounded by Medak and Warangal districts
in the North, Mahabubnagar and Guntur districts in the South,
Krishna and Khammam districts in the East, Mahaboobnagar and Hyderabad
districts in the West directions.
It was under the rule of Sathavahana, Golkonda, Moghal
and Nizam Kings and it was called as Neelagiri in olden days.
