The Nalgonda district is surrounded by
Medak and Warangal districts in the North, Mahabubnagar and
Guntur districts in the South, Krishna and Khammam districts
in the East, Mahaboobnagar and Hyderabad districts in the West
directions. It was know as Nilagiri in ancient times. It is
situated among black hills and so is called Nalgonda. By the
time Allauddin Bahmani (1347-58) rule ended it come to be
known as Nalgonda.
It was under the

Kings.
