Karimnagar district is surrounded by Adilabad
district in the North , Warangal and Medak districts in the
South, Madhya Pradesh state in the east, and Nizamabad district
in the West directions.
It was under the rule of Satavahanas in the begining
and followed by the Vishnukumdin, Vemulavada Chalukyas, Kakatiyas,
Qutubshahis and Asaf Jahis. This place was earlier called
as Elgamdala. This district was formed in the year 1906.
Rivers in the District: Maneru and Godavari.
Tourist Attraction: Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple at Vemulavada,
Elgandal fort, Kaleswaram, Dhulikatta, Sivaram Sanctuary,
Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Dharmapuri, Kaleswaram
temple, Sri Anjaneya Temple at Jagityala hill,Kondagattu.
Handicrafts: Silver filigree, Nakashi Paintings Sirsilla
cottons and Ramadugu Stone Craft.

kms from Hyderabad. It is well connected by road and has a
railway station at Karimnagar Head Quarters. Nearest airport
is Hyderabad airport, which is well connected with major domestic
and international airports.
