Jayaprakash Narayna says there is No Organized Descrimination in Andhra Pradesh or in India for the last 53 years. He is disputing the
Home Minister Shri Chidambaram, who stated that Telangana has been descriminated for the last 50 years. He is just saying that I DON'T CARE
about Telangana.
Telangana NRIs should ask the following questions.
1) You portrayed yourself as a honest politician. Are you really honest,
when you wrote the report to Srikrishna committee? Was there any
influence from Samakya Andhra leaders?
2) You advocate transparency. Why are you reluctant to share the information
to public about the funding for the party?
3) Why are you reluctant to respond to your own party members from
10 districts of Telangana during the agitation?
4) Why the split in the party and telangana Loksatta party was farmed
5) You always tell that peoples aspirations should be respected.
What stopping to you see from aspirations of the Telangana people?
Why can't you see the sacrifices of innocent Telangana youth?
6) Your party lost deposits in corporate elections - what kind of
mandate you have ?
7) You are very well aware of the fact that the statistics you submitted
to the SKC do not represent the reality. You decided to ignore Telangana
cause in order to get funding for your party from Andhra lobby.
Isn't it true?
8) Why did you contest from Kukatpally constituency while you reside in Khairatabad?
On what basis a loksabha ticket was given to Mr. Rattaiah? Isn't it for money? How are you different from Congress or TDP?
9)You always talk about district level governance, but why are you not in a position to accept the wishes of people from 10 districts?
Isn't creating smaller states a start to bringing government to district level?
Strong protests by Telangana NRI at JPs Meeting Washington DC. On May 9th, 2010
Local NRIs from Virginia and Washington DC area
stated that JP lacks vision and understanding of Telangana issues
and their aspirations for demerger of Telangana State. They said
JP’s ignorance is very clear based on the report he submitted
to SriKrishna Committee. JP could not understand and differentiate
Telangana aspirations and their genuine 54 yrs old struggle from
politics as he thinks Telangana issue was politically motivated.
As we all know, Telangana people never wanted to join and were not
happy with the forcible alliance, conditional merger with Andhra
State from the day of Andhrapradesh inception. Mere recommendations
of restoring 1975 presidential orders would not help resolve Telangana
self rule demand. During the question hour, Telangana NRIs pointed
out about his misquoting “no evidence of discrimination against
Telangana in irrigation, jobs and state government’s resource
allocations”, which Telangana NRIs said is a blatant lie.
They also said that LokSatta’s SriKrishna committee report
failed to represent or even mention Telangana people’s opinion
and thus JP lost moral ground to represent Telangana.
They questioned his power decentralization and local rule theory
and why that would not be applicable to Telangana separation. This
contradicts the very basic fundamentals of LokSatta party. They
also asked why Loksatta would not support Telangana demerger to
fulfill longstanding Telangana people’s wishes, if it does
not make any difference to his party and he does not care about
the separation issue.
Telangana NRIs questioned about his achievements as an MLA of Kukatpally
constituency and also asked about progress in implementation of
idealistic theories such as removal of corruption.
JP welcomed new leadership to work under him on a question about
one man shows in most of the political parties including LokSatta
party. This shows how JP gave a wrong and round about answer to
a very straight question of one man show in the party.
Telangana NRIS also asked him about why Telangana people’s
dream of reinstating their state is different from their Andhra
separation struggle in 1952. In fact, Telangana situation was much
better than then Andhra separation and fight for Madras city. Telangana
NRIs reminded him that Hyderabad State was an independent state
from 1948 to 1956 within Indian Union and was merged with Andhra
State against the wishes of Telangana people and Fazal Ali Commissions
recommendations. They said Telangana struggle cannot be compared
with any other state demands within India as it was an illegal merger
and forcible alliance of unequal parties.
JP said every problem can be addressed by democratic means but
failed answer why those democratic means such as gentlemen’s
agreement, various committee recommendations and the December 9th,
2009 initiative of Government of India failed to address longstanding
Telangana issue.
Telangana NRIs pointed out that JP was not willing to listen to
others point of view which was very clear based on his comments
on how others could not convince him or he could not convince the
questioning parties as he already set his mind about this.
Telangana NRI's took strong exception to JP's argument that division
of the state would benefit only the politicians and not the common
people. They strongly condemned his statement as it undermines the
sacrifices of countless Telanganites who laid down their lives fighting
for a separate state with the hope that self rule would bring prosperity
and happiness to all the sections of the society.
V.V. Rao : It is a wonderful
opportunity to all of you to get interacted with the so called intellectual
former IAS became activist and started a political party and became
a MLA from Kukatpelly. As a person worked with him for more than
5 years in Loksatta NGO, I have several experiences with him.
Initially I had a great respect for his ideology and came out of it as soon as he started a political party. I can put some of the good experiences and doubts I have with him.
Today every one has so much of anguish to question him on several issues, especially from Telangana, as you all are well aware that his deeds are very different from his speeches.
And you should know that, you are talking to a man with an organization of one man show. How democratic is this show? A lot of top level leaders in the party are salaried employees.
A person with a few years history of running a NGO, with some fan fallowing and MEDIA HYPED, today you find not even two digit number of those real activists who were real contributors to the Loksatta,
How can you believe a person, bow says something and does different.
Few examples from my experiences
1)When you hear at his first popular slogan of corruption free society, Transparency, accountability, you would expect
that these principles will be implemented. Today when it comes to implementation of his own ideology, he himself didn"t
agree for the open discussion on the funds he received from public for his organizational activity,
as it is challenged by TDP political party during the corporation elections in GHMC.
2)When you look at his successful popular mass awareness campaign on local bodies empowerment which is aimed at
decentralization of power by way of allocation of funds and by way of duties to serve the citizens of the state,
this was designed by one crore signature campaign in the state of A.P, Where in I was major contributor to
this mass awareness campaign with highest signatures collected from Kukatpelly constituency nearing two lack signatures.
(which made J.P to choose this constituency to contest this elections from kukatpelly). Rajsekar Reddy incorporated this as
first point in the state election manifesto of congress party to defeat Chandra babu. .
It is astonishing to see that loksatta failed to take this agitation to achieve the goal,
during the Rajsekar Reddy,s period.
3. When it comes to ISSUE OF TELANGANA , separation of telangana is decentralization of power from Andhra politicians
and bureaucrats, who are really exploiting the present status of centralized power. Now J.P is differing with his own
theory, when he practices. When it comes to Telangana agitation and answering the members of his own political party,
he avoided to respond in the media.
He gave a REPORT TO SONIA AND MANMOHAN SINGH A FOURTY PAGE KEEP UNITED THE STATE OF A.P, without even discussing with in
his political party and he behaved in a most undemocratic way. This resulted in loosing faith on the leadership of J.P.
In Telangana 10 districts, loksatta political party members claimed that LOKSATTA is not a patent right of J.P as he has
violated all the rules of the internal party democracy and failed to accept the leadership who were really elected by ballot
with in the party and nominated some gundas(ex;in Tirupati) , CHELAS are in the key posts and behaved like any other party.
Recently election commission has recognized the newly formed party by the name of LOKSATTA TELANGANA PARTY after a long battle with J.P.
